Randy was born May 18, 1958 to John and Shirley (Krug) Doty in Emmetsburg, IA. He was the middle child of six siblings. He grew up giving his family a hard time and graduated from Pella High School in Iowa. Randy moved to Houston, TX. shortly after for work. He always said Houston was a fun time. He moved to Wessington Springs, SD. to help his parents with the grain elevator.
On Halloween 1985 he met the love of his life, Barb, at a party all thanks to a dear friend. They had three daughters.
Randy was a hard working man, and always had to be busy. He drove truck for 26 years around the country before retiring and starting LongTail Pheasant Farm. He started his septic business and had great joy and pride hauling “yesterday’s meals on wheels.” He loved camping and fishing with his friends and family. He shared his love of traveling, and his favorite vacation spot was Mexico to enjoy the warm weather. He was a supportive and fun loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who shared his life.
He is survived by his wife Barb, daughters Amanda Goglin (Scott Miller), Abby (Nathaniel) Kreber, and Ashley Doty. Grandsons Caleb and Hayden Goglin. Siblings Robert (Jan) Doty, Steve (Rhonda) Doty, Dana (Cindy) Doty, and Linda (Doty) Bruce. Numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters and brother in laws and friends. And his old dog Wally.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Shirley and brother Gene Doty.
