Lance Cpl. Walker of Macon, Georgia graduated from Pike County High School in Zebulon, but he also lived in Macon and Fort Valley growing up. He loved to work on cars, draw and Rollerblade. He joined the Marines in September 2004, joined his current unit in April 2005 and was trained as a logistics vehicle systems operator. This was his second tour in Iraq. Jeff was awarded the Iraq Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Sea Service Ribbon. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Auera. Jeffrey was a member of The Rock Tabernacle Church in Griffin. He died while conducting combat operations in Iraq at age 21. He was given full military honors and honored with a purple heart.
