Bertha S. Burton, age 65, of Joplin, passed away on Saturday October 13, 2018, at Communities of Wildwood following an illness.

Bertha was born on June 18, 1953 in Livingston, Al., the daughter of the late Lieutenant and Louise (Barksdale) Fields. She has been a lifetime area resident. She worked for FAG Bearing Company until she retired. She was a faithful member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She loved singing in the choir, working in the mission and the church kitchen.

Survivors include two daughters; Tonia and Saretta Burton both of Joplin, a son Tony Burton of Joplin, two brothers, David Fields of Joplin, and Danny Fields of Oklahoma City Ok., two sisters, Rosie Lee and husband Bernard of Houston, Tx., Laura Fields-Jackson and her husband Leeroy of Joplin, Mo.; five grandchildren; one great -grandchild. Preceded in death by a sister Stephanie D. Burton a niece Raven N. Fields and stepfather Chester D.Fields. A loving and caring friend Jason Schwab. She leaves behind a host of relatives that she loved dearly.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
