There are no stones in this cemetery per my aunt who once visited it.
Jacob worked for a slab mill that made wooden barrels. There were about 80 log cabins just north of the cemetery where the workers and their families lived.
The death notice for Jacob R. Benedict says "Mr. Benedict age 86 years" in the paper at Flint Lake in Vidette, Porter Co., Ind, Oct 5, 1882. "The death of Mr. Benedict, an old citizen of the county, occurred Monday morning at the residence of James Merrill, at Flint Lake. Mr. Benedict lived to the advanced age of 86 years. His death was the result of lung fever. He was vigorous and able to do a good day's work until a few days before his death. He was buried at Kinne Cemetery."
