Funeral service for Steven Douglas Brannon, age 68, of Decatur, will be Friday, October 19, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at Westmeade Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Scotty Hogan and Rev. Justin McAlpin officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 18, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Brannon, who died Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at his residence, was born October 1, 1950, in Town Creek, to Junior Coolidge Brannon and Ruby Glover Brannon. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, and brothers, J. C. Brannon and Tim Hutto. Mr. Brannon was retired from BP Chemicals. He loved to hunt and fish, and spent time with his family and the Lord.

He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Brannon; one son, Nick Brannon (Teri); one daughter, Samantha Brannon; seven brothers, Larry Brannon (Barbara), Roger Brannon (Gayle), Joe Hutto (Tina), Farrell Hutto (Janette), Mickey Hutto, Greg Hutto, and Erskine Aldridge (Beth); sister-in-law, Ussery Brannon; and three grandchildren, Mia Brannon, Maci Brannon, and Nick Sanford.

Pallbearers will be Fred Limbaugh, Kerry Black, Scott Montgomery, John Riddle, Justin Lyon, Geronimo Collier, Jeff Hansard, and Larry Fuller.

The family will like to express a very special "thank you" to Hospice of the Valley for all of their love and care.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, P. O. Box 2745, Decatur, AL 35602.
