Carl Dean Marshall was born on October 31, 1954 in Solgohachia, Arkansas to the late Isaac and Jessie Marshall. Also preceding him in death are one son, Carl Dean (Dean’o) Marshall Jr; one father-in-law, Charles McGee; five brothers, Parnell Isaac, Julius Theopolius, Charles Earl, Eurial Courtland, and Lloyd Marshall; two sisters, Elois Hibbert, Gennice (Gee) Morris; two nephews, Kevin Marshall, Travis Canady; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Veasley, and Sydney Simpson.

Carl departed this life on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at his home in Aurora, Colorado.
Carl received his education from Wyandotte High School, graduating in 1972. Being a hard worker, Carl owned and operated his own cab company for 10 years before starting at TWA airlines where he was a maintenance technician. Carl was employed at Pods Moving and Storage in Denver, Colorado up until he passed.
Carl was an advocate for driving and would take you to the “moon and back, non-stop”. He drove all over the country. Carl & Tina enjoyed traveling around the country together. This past May, Carl & Tina drove from Denver to Kansas City, from Kansas City to New York, from New York back to Kansas City and from Kansas City back to Denver in just seven days. Even when Carl worked for TWA Airlines, he never flew on an airplane. He just had a passion for driving and could drive anything that had four wheels; he loved driving family out of state. Carl’s favorite and most fun passenger was Mother. She would tell him “put the metal to the pedal”.
One of Carl’s favorite foods was beef ribs. He loved him some “Jack Stack” and patronized the establishment not only once but 2-3 times during any of his visits in Kansas City. Carl enjoyed playing cards with friends, watching all sports.
Carl was baptized at an early age and became a member of the Pilgrim Baptist Church in Solgohachia, Arkansas. Carl and Tina faithfully attended the Higher Ground Church of Christ in Aurora, Colorado. Carl loved the Lord, was very spiritual and had strong faith; he truly loved and trusted in the Lord every day of his life.
Carl is survived by his beloving and devoted wife Tina; one son, Damien Childress of Kansas City, Kansas; one daughter Breyonna Marshall of Denver, Colorado; nine grandchildren who called him “Papa”, (Brittany, Courtney, Damien Jr, Daja’nea, Dezionna, Amari, Destiny, Jovanae, Bruce Jr.); one mother-in-law, Hazel Payne of Overland Park, Kansas; three Sisters, Carolyn G. Veasley of Denver, Colorado, Sharon G. Dryden of Kansas City, Kansas, Gloria J. Simpson of Denver, Colorado; one brother Rev. Garry Wayne Marshall (Lisa) of Fort Worth, Texas; two sister-in-laws, Terri Watkins (Vincent) of Overland Park, Kansas, Dana McGee of Kansas City, Missouri; two brother-in-laws Charles (aka Nordy) McGee of Kansas City, Kansas, Charley McGee of Nashville, TN; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends who will cherish him, love him and will miss him deeply.
God has called Carl home. He has taken a place in Heaven next to God. He will never be gone if we keep his memory alive in our hearts.
