James Floyd "Jim" Adair age 72, of St. Johns, MI, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Sparrow Health Systems, Lansing, MI.
Jim was born in Big Rapids, MI on October 28, 1945, the son of James Adair and Doris (Randall) and Richard Shong. He graduated from Portland High School with the class of 1964. On July 3, 1965 he married his high school sweetheart Sharon Williams in Eagle, MI.
Jim retired from General Motors in 1994. Jim enjoyed antique cars, attending car shows with his 1979 FORD Bronco, collecting license plates and woodworking. He was very patriotic and displayed the American Flag all around his home. He loved jig saw puzzles, cross word puzzles and drawing. His family was very important to him and he cherished the time spent with them. Jim attended Pilgrim United Methodist Church, was a member of the Fowler Conservation Club and the Hub Antique Car Club.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Adair of St. Johns; daughters: Karen and Chris Beard of Portland; Tammie Demarais of Fowler; grandchildren: Haley (Keith Perizzolo) Demarais of Granby, CO; Joshua (Georgia Krebs) Beard of Findlay, OH; Breana and Ira Carbone of St. Johns; Jordan (Abi Mason) Beard of Portland; sisters in law: Treva Chambers, Annette and George Kroeze, Kathy and Pat Osier, Sharon Williams and brother in law John and Esther Williams. He is also survived by step brothers: Dennis and May Shong, Tom Shong, David Shong, brother Bill Adair, sister Jane Scutt and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers in law: Richard Williams, Neal Chambers, and Ken Scutt.
Funeral Services will be held at Pilgrim United Methodist Church on Friday, October 19, 2018, at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Andy Croel officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 3:00-5:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Smith Family Funeral Homes - Osgood Chapel, St. Johns.
