Arthur Gomez Hernandez, 87 of Newman passed away peacefully, in the presence of his wife and family, Friday September 14th at his home. Mr. Hernandez was born in Fillmore, California to Ysauro and Paulita Hernandez.

He was a resident of Newman for fifteen years, a Korean Army Veteran, member of the VFW and the Knights of Columbus in Gilroy and Gustine. Mr. Hernandez worked for Gilroy Auto Parts, Santa Clara Transit District, and for Auto Parts Stores in Patterson, Newman, Hollister and Gilroy after his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, traveling, golf, tinkering with cars and spending time with family and friends.

Mr. Hernandez is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Rose Hernandez of Newman; sons, Charles (Edna) Corral, Arthur Hernandez, Jr.; daughters, Rosemarie (Nathan) Tarzian, Pauline Hernandez, Gloria (Angelo) Garcia; brother, Tony Hernandez; sister, Celia (Ray) Altamirano; sister-in-law, Clementine Hernandez; Godmother, Clara Cardona; grandchildren, Christi, Chalen Jr., Justin, Christopher, Melissa, Amber, Vanessa, Aaron, Alec and many great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Corral, grand daughter, Jessica, brother, Robert Hernandez and sister-in-law, Jenny Hernandez.

A Visitation will be held at 8:30 am to 10:00 am followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 am Monday, September 24th at Hillview Funeral Chapel in Newman.

Services conducted by Hillview Funeral Chapel, Newman.
