Gordon was a retired Police Sgt. for the Village of Sleepy Hollow, where he served for 26 years. He served as the Youth Officer and started D.A.R.E. program in the village and also for a period of time served on the Tarrytown School Board. He grew up in North Tarrytown where he was very active with the Fire Department and served as Chief of the department in 1985 and was a Life Active member of Union Hose Company #2. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aires 1042, the Knights of Columbus St. Elmo Council 318 and a member of the former American French Club. Gordon grew up in St Teresa of Avila Parish where he served as an Altar Boy for many years. Gordon loved hockey. He played for Sleepy Hollow High School and continued to play after high school. He later became a hockey coach for Sleepy Hollow High School. He also volunteered his time coaching various youth hockey organizations. He was also an avid N.Y. Rangers Fan and N.Y. Giants Fan.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife Rosemarie and his son Scott, his loving mother Theresa Ferguson and his sisters Sherry Ann Ferguson and Kathy Ann Emma and all his loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving son Michael and loving father Alyre.
Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. His Funeral Mass will be Friday and 10:00 at St. Teresa of Avila Church with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. To leave condolences, visit www.coffeyfuneralhome.com
