He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol Scalf Ferrell; one daughter, Kim Rector and her husband, Steve; and one grandson, Lance. Also surviving is a sister, Helen Drake of Monaville, W.Va.; and a brother, Bernie Ferrell of Chapmanville, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Todd Ferrell.
Charlie enjoyed bluegrass music, car shows, and talking with friends. He was employed at Flowers Auto Company for over 40 years, and was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Broad Street church of Christ in Statesville and Masonic Lodge in Yeager, W.Va.
A funeral service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Dave Wood officiating Friday, Oct. 19, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., prior to the service. A private burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Claremont.
The Ferrell family is under the care of Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations.
