Clara Jean Wells Perry, 82, of Kingsport, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018, at her residence. She was born December 1, 1935, in Sullivan County to the late Merville and Myrtle Cox Wells.

Clara Jean was a loving and caring lady who devoted much of her life taking care of others during their time of need. She enjoyed studying her Bible, working in her yard and spoiling her grandchildren. Clara Jean was an Asst. Merchandising Manager for Parks-Belk and later retired as the Manager of Kingsport Milling & Supply Company. She was a member of Colonial Heights Christian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carson “Pete” Perry; daughter, Gaby Perry; sister, Margretta Boyer; brother, Merville Guy Wells.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Kathy Carver (Stan); son, Carson “Pete” Perry (Stephanie); grandchildren, Rachel Sturgill (Tad), Thomas Carver (Holly), Alex Perry (Hannah), Ben and Sam Perry; great-grandchildren, Daniel Sturgill, Liam Sturgill and Olivia Sturgill; several nieces and nephews.

A private family Funeral Service was held in the chapel of Oak Hill Funeral Home. An Entombment Service followed at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Amedysis Hospice especially her nurse, Becky Lee, the bathing team and Chaplain Ryan Wagoner.

The care of Clara Jean Wells Perry and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Oak Hill Funeral & Cremation Services.
