Florence Elizabeth den Ouden
NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. -- Florence Elizabeth den Ouden, RN, a Retired Nursing Sister in the former Royal Canadian Air Force, of Niagara Falls, Ont, died at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Wednesday, April 11, 2001, in here 77th year.
She was the beloved wife of John L. den Ouden for over 47 years; dear mother of James M. den Ouden (Joanne) of Kitchener, Ont.; and a cherished Nana to her grandchildren, Philip John den Ouden and Julie Anne den Ouden.
She was the only daughter of the late Vance Frederick Barteaux and Sinar Alice Barteaux.
She is also survived by brothers, Alpin Barteaux (Margaret) of Trenton; Walter Barteaux of Advocate Harbour, N.S.; and Millard Barteaux (Erica) of Gimli, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her brothers, Fred Barteaux (Lyda), Watson Barteaux and Douglas Barteaux.
She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews from British Columbia to Nova Scotia, friends and neighbours and in particular her best friend, Mrs. Marilyn Staines of Niagara Falls. Florence also had a special place in her heart for Mrs. Anne Schneider.
Friends called on the family at the Heatherington and Deans Funeral Home in Niagara Falls on Sunday and Monday afternoons and evenings. The Regional Niagara Wing, Royal Canadian Air Force Association, held a brief ceremony at the funeral home on Monday, April 16 at 7 p.m. The funeral service was held Tuesday, April 17, at 1 pm at the funeral home, with interment following at Fairview Cemetery in Niagara Falls.
