Anona Johnston

Anona Johnston passed away March 28, 2009, on Whidbey Island, in Coupeville, Washington. She was 92 years of age.

Anona was a performer throughout much of her life. As a young woman she sang in clubs and lounges to support herself. Later in life she enjoyed performing as a dancer in Native American pow wows. Anona was a wonderful hostess who always had cookies and a pitcher of spiced tea waiting for her guests. She was intelligent, witty, fun, creative, talented, and beautiful.

While Anona lived much of her life in Southern California, she moved to Washington state a few years prior to her passing.

She was survived by her daughter and son-in-law; and by many nieces and nephews.
