Steven Michael Lynch, 68, of Stuarts Draft, VA joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on October 13th in Salem, VA. Steven was born in Morgantown, WV to Wallace Jennings and Barbara Lou Lynch on August 10th, 1950.

He attended many schools during his family’s numerous moves, but graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in 1970. He obtained his Associate’s degree from Lee’s Junior College, and subsequently joined the military. He was a proud veteran of both the Army and Navy, having served a total of 16 active and reserved years domestically and while stationed abroad in Germany. After his military career, he attended college at Eastern Kentucky University and continued his education at James Madison University, obtaining a Bachelor’s of Education Degree. Steven worked many jobs over the years while providing for his family including working construction, sales, etc. but most fondly remembered his eleven years teaching industrial cooperative training in Page County, VA and helping students obtain their GED, learn construction skills, and become successful adults while working for Youth Build in Waynesboro, VA. He started a nighttime adult education program for Massanutten Technical Center and, later in life, substituted at Valley VoTech.

Steven regularly attended and actively supported his church – Redeeming Life Ministries of Staunton, VA. He started the Food Bank ministry there and took time every week to transport food from the Food Bank in Verona and local donors to the church. Friends and family knew Steven as someone who always cared for the less fortunate and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He traveled twice to the Dominican Republic to spread the gospel and help construct a church for the believers there.

Steven is preceded by his father Wallace Jennings Lynch and survived by his wife Susan Lynch, daughter Laura Fendrick, adopted daughter Destiny Pinto, son Timothy Lynch, mother Barbara Lou Lynch, sister Lou Ann Lynch, and grandchildren Garrett Fendrick, Kaden Beard, and Zachary Pinto.
