APRIL 30, 1940 ~ OCTOBER 14, 2018 (AGE 78)

Dorothy Emaline Hickey Parker, 78, of Morristown, passed into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father, Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the home of her granddaughter Courtney, surrounded by her family. She was born in Grainger County on April 30, 1940, was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A dedicated Christian and faithful friend to all. Dorothy was saved at the age of 16 at Noah’s Chapel American Christian Church and was a 60year member at Calvue Missionary Baptist Church having joined the church on June 1, 1958. She was a kind- hearted soul that loved her family. She was employed by Lawson’s Manufacturing and retired from Anchor Brush after several years of service.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years James Carl (J.C.) Parker; son, Jerry Parker; granddaughter, Casie Parker Price; infant sister, Beatrice Hickey; brothers, Thomas Hickey and Andrew Hickey; parents, Samuel (Sam) and Lockie Smith Hickey and step-father, William “Lee” Smith.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy Parker of Athens, Tn.; grandchildren, Courtney Helton and Jesse (Hannah) Parker; great-grandchildren, Jonathan (Kenzie) Helton, Zachary Helton and Kristen Helton and Kallista Parker and Parker Price; several nieces and nephews; special dear friends, Betty Brooks, Opal Manning; Mary Crigger; step-sister, Ruby Buchanan and step-brothers, Charlie McGaha and Samuel McGaha. She also leaves behind her 15year old four-legged fur baby Oreo.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Patty, Vickie Crigger, Dr. Mark Harrell, CCU nurses at Morristown Hamblen, Dr. John Horner, Dr. Ernesto Mejia and Amedysis Hospice. The exceptional care, support and compassion shown toward our family will not soon be forgotten.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Thursday, October 18, 2018 in the East Chapel of Allen Funeral Home prior to the service at 7:00 with Chad Wallace and Travis Bowden officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 19, 2018 in Hamblen Memory Gardens.
