Eugene "Butch" Gilbert Parker

Eugene "Butch" Gilbert Parker, 78, of Mount Pleasant, SC, passed away on October 15, 2018.

He was born on June 19, 1940, in Waycross, GA to Grace Gilbert Parker and Eugene Parker. He married his childhood sweetheart, Bobbie Hill Parker, and they were happily married for 57 years. He graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in civil engineering but ultimately made his career in the forestry industry in South Carolina. He also served in the US Army as a First lieutenant after college. He was the President of the Forestry Division of the Meade Westaco when he retired. He also served as a Deacon at Summerville Baptist Church, before moving to the Mount Pleasant area. He always loved golf, fishing and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Parker, his sons, David Parker, John Parker and Stephen Parker, daughters-in-law, Monica Parker and Diane Parker and two grandchildren, and his sister, Jane Freedman of Jacksonville, FL.

Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 10 - 11 o'clock at Summerville Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 11 o'clock at Summerville Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Summerville Cemetery.
