Guyton – Jimmy Nelson Wells, 71, passed away October 16, 2018 at his residence.

The Florida native was a member of Pineora Baptist Church. He retired from Colonial Oil and Biblia Towing Co. as a tug boat captain, which he had been for over 48 years. He dearly loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He truly loved fishing and was a fisher of men.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Lee Wells and Helen Lilly Reed Wells; and his first wife, Donna Lynn Snipes Wells.

Survivors include the love of his life, his wife, Susie Wells; daughter, Dana Bland of Guyton; son, Jimmy L. Wells (Ronda) of Guyton; his beloved granddaughters, whom were the apple of his eye, Rachael Howard (Jeff), Rebecca and Jenna Wells, Megan Foster (Michael); great-grandchildren, Levi and Brynn Howard, and Emma Foster; step-children, Paulette Thompson, Darlene Miller, Wayne Shuman, Kimberley Newsome, Monaleigh Shuman, and Malynda Baird; step-grandchildren, Matthew, Lindsay, Danielle, Cale, Layne, and Davis; numerous step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue, Nancy, and Donna Jane; brother-in-law, Tony; sisters-in-law, Jan and Linda; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.

Remembrances may be given to Pineora Baptist Church Building Fund, 131 Elkins St., Guyton, GA 31312.
