Charlie Edward Durham, died Monday, September 3, 2018, in Crowell. He was 94.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Crowell, with Mr. Roy Durham, Sr., officiating. Co-officiants will be Mr. Quinton Newton and Pastor Pat Rodriguez.  Interment will follow at Crowell Cemetery under the direction of Womack Manard Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 7th, at the funeral home.

Charlie was born December 11, 1923, in Murphy, Texas, to Mertin Dudley and Georgia Ann (Eubanks) Durham. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a retired truck driver. Charlie married Mary Frances Collins on March 16, 1940 in Crowell, Texas.  Their union was blessed with two sons and two daughters.  Charlie was a resident of the Crowell area most of his life, and served as a deacon in the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include 2 sons, Roy Durham, Sr., of Eclectic, Alabama, Robert Durham, Sr., of Crowley, Texas; 2 daughters, Charlsia Buzzelli of Crowley, Texas, Nora Urquizo of Crowell; 1 bother, Melton Durham of Burlington, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 4 great, great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, on September 4, 2003; 13 grandchildren, including Barbie and Tony Durham; 6 brothers; and 5 sisters.
