Darrell was born in Bountiful, Utah on February 25th, 1940 to parents Harold and Metta Hart. He was the youngest brother to Robert and Paul. When he was 6 years old, Darrell’s father, Harold purchased 90 acres and established Hart Farms in Ontario. Darrell graduated high school in Ontario and later served in the National Guard for four years.
On September 11th, 1960, Darrell and Joan were married in the Idaho Falls Temple. After settling on the farm, they were blessed with four children; Daniel, Nicole, Dennis, and Devin. Their family was sealed in the Boise Idaho Temple.
Darrell was dedicated to his family, church and the farm. He loved being outside and working on the farm with his family. He always left smiles on the faces of everyone around him and his generosity was as big as his heart.
Darrell’s legacy is one of compassion, faith, and hard work. His life philosophy was to always see the best in people, care unquestionably, and love immeasurably. All that knew him felt blessed to have had him in their lives as he represented all that is good.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan Hart, brothers Robert and Paul Hart, son Daniel and his wife Cindy, daughter Nicole and her husband Curtis, son Dennis and his wife Jamie, son Devin and his wife Christina along with 19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Dr’s and nursing staff at St. Alphonsus Hospital for taking care of our amazing husband and father.
