He was the husband of the late Catherine East Hillard; father of Robert and Kevin Hillard; grandfather of Susan, Amy and David Hillard; and brother of James D. (Mary) and Stanley E. (Lois) Hillard. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in economics. Mr. Hillard was a veteran, having served as corporal in the Army Air Corps.∼Son of
