She was born in Sampson County, NC; was the daughter of the late Thelma and Weldon Bass. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Bass and a sister, Velva Rose Little.
She was a beautiful, kind and spoke her mind. She lived at times in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia as well as North Carolina. She worked as a bookkeeper, secretary, and clerk until her retiring years in Newton Grove. She was giving, enjoyed clean humor, and at times was irascible. She loved animals, arranging flowers, travel and dancing, and thought the jitterbug never went out of style.
She is survived by sisters, Mattie Sumner and Karon Satterfield; a brother, Haywood Bass; and more than 12 nieces and nephews who she helped raise.
