Funeral services for Janice James Hunt, 82, of Piedmont were Sunday, October 14, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. at Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Ingram officiating. Burial followed at Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family received friends at the funeral home Sunday from noon until time of service.
Mrs. Hunt passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018, at Piedmont Health Care Center.
Survivors include her son, Alan Hunt and his wife Phyllis of Piedmont; granddaughter, Ashley Simpson and her husband Ryan of Auburn; grandson, Kent Hunt and his wife Megan of Franklin, TN.; three great grandchildren, Jack Simpson, Henry Simpson and Jenna Simpson; one soon to arrive great granddaughter, Elizabeth Tula Hunt; brother, Mike James and his wife Barbara of Raleigh, NC.; and niece, Jennifer Graham of Leesburg, VA.
Pallbearers were Gary McCurdy, Phillip Pope, Ryan Simpson, Mike Pody, Paul Harper, and Kent Hunt. Honorary pallbearer was Hank Douthit.
Mrs. Hunt was a resident of Piedmont where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. She and her late husband were the long time owners and operators of Hunt Drug Store. She was a 1954 graduate of Piedmont High School and a 1958 graduate of Shorter College in Rome, GA. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hunt; and parents, Forrest and Tula James.
