Mrs. Smith was a native and lifelong resident of Duson. She was a loving mother and wife, who loved to go fishing, crabbing and shrimping with her husband, Jessie. Anything she would do, Jessie was right there with her. Mamie was a parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of fifty three years, Jessie Smith of Duson; one son, Mark Joseph Smith of Rayne; two daughters, Linda Touchet and her husband, Richard, of Crowley and Melissa Landry and her husband, Steve of Carencro; six grandchildren, Candace Bourque, Gage Fritz, Caiden Herring, Bailey Touchet, Breanna Touchet and Dillion Smith; two great grandchildren, Oakley Barras and McKenzie Barras; and one brother, Rodney Prejean of Kaplan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Prejean and the former, Gladys Broussard; one daughter, Janelle Touchet; and one sister, Judy Hebert.
