Obituary for Doris Jane Sullivan
Doris Jane Coucier Sullivan was born August 20, 1953 in Overton, Texas to Laliah Beatrice Bethune and William Frank Coucier Sr. She shared a birthday with her younger twin sister, Donna Marie. She married her soulmate and husband, Michael William Sullivan, on August 25, 1984. They were elementary sweethearts that were reunited later in life. She was the 2nd youngest out of five children, Billy Frank Coucier, JoAnn Courcier Weller Bradshaw, Danny Coucier and Donna Marie Courcier Schwab. She also had a cousin, two nieces and a nephew that were raised as her siblings, Mary Helen Bethune Watson, Myssy Weller Hartley, Donna Jane Weller Ripley and Jeffrey Neal Weller. She was a graduate of the University of Texas at Tyler with her bachelors of Nursing. One of her many passions was nursing and helping others. She eventually decided to continue to pass her knowledge on and became a nursing instructor at Kilgore College. She made a difference by teaching and sharing her love of nursing with her nursing students. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Henderson. She shared her faith through her gift of singing. She had an absolutely beautiful voice and did many solos. Her family”s favorite memories is her singing at the Christmas Cantata. She loved to fish(especially in the gulf), traveling everywhere (Niagara Falls, The Redwood Forest, Waco aka Baylor, Amarillo, Arkansas, Seattle and many cruises!), going to Shreveport and life itself! But what she enjoyed the most of everything was her family. Her life revolved around her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: her brother Billy Frank Coucier, her nephew/brother Jeff Weller, her aunt Helen Anderson, and several other aunts and uncles. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Michael William Sullivan of Longview, three daughters and son-in-laws: Shelley and Marty Wood of Rusk, Jennifer and Jason Culverhouse of Surfside, Tori and Brent Jimmerson of Whitehouse: eight grandchildren, Blain Wood, Haleigh Culverhouse, Leigh Anne Wood, Micah Culverhouse, Peyton Wood, Tanner Culverhouse, Tanner Tasch-Jimmerson, and Kira Jimmerson, And two great granddaughters: Summer and Bonnie Johnson., She is also survived by a huge, huge family, one brother, two sisters many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
