Sherry Edith Hayes 1956 ~ 2005 Our loving wife, mother and grandmother, Sherry Hayes, lost a courageous battle to cancer on October 27, 2005, surrounded by her family and friends. Sherry was born April 25, 1956 to Bob and Jane Stembridge in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Jim Hayes on June 11, 1972. Sherry loved camping, fishing, trips to Monticello, and vacationing with her family. She was a very outgoing person who loved doing things for others. Sherry ran a daycare in her home where she cared for her grandchildren and other children who she made to feel as part of the family. To them, she will always be "Grandma Sherry". She is survived by her husband, Jim Hayes; her daughters, Melanie (Tony) and Melissa (Mike); her grandchildren, Chance, Gage, Talisha and Shaela; her father, Bob; her mother, Jane; her brothers and sisters, Mark (Missy), RoseAnn (Mika), Linda and Quirt; many other close relatives and friends. Jim, Melanie and Melissa would like to thank Grandma Jane and Sherry's dearest friend, DyAnn Duckworth for all that they have done. The family would also like to thank everyone at the Utah Cancer Specialists, The Huntsman Cancer Institute for giving Sherry a second chance, and a very special thanks to LeAnn, Valerie and everyone else at Rocky Mt. Hospice. A Reception will be held Friday, November 4, 2005 from 2-4 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sherry's honor to the Cancer Institute or Hospice Center of your choice.
