Hall of Fame Professional Football Player. For ten seasons (1958 to 1967), he played at the fullback position in the National Football League with the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans. During the course of his career, Taylor was a key offense force on Vince Lombardi's dynasty Packer squads and played on four NFL Championships teams, which included the first Super Bowl title. Born James Charles Taylor, he was a multi-sport athlete during his years at Baton Rouge High School. He continued on the collegiate level at Louisiana State University, where he achieved All-American honors. Selected by the Green Bay Packers during the 2nd Round of the 1958 NFL Draft, he totaled 132 career regular season games. Taylor earned Pro-Bowl honors five-times and All-Pro recognition once. He was the NFL MVP in 1962. He was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1976. Additionally, he is a member of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame and was named to the NFL 1960s All-Decade Team.
