Mrs. Jackie Powell, 70, passed away on Friday October 12, 2018, at her residence in Jayess, MS. Jackie was born October 12, 1948 in Iowa to Walter and Ethel Givens Spiess.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 5PM until 9PM at Providence Baptist Church in Jayess and continuing Monday October 15,2018 until service time at 11:00 AM with graveside services following in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Scott Johnson will officiate the services, with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Jackie enjoyed spending time with her family, and cooking for everyone. She won numerous cooking awards and competitions. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church; she was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Jackie is survived by her husband of 52 years Jimmy Powell, children, Melissa Renfroe (Tim) of Brookhaven, MS; Anna Watts (Michael) of Jayess, MS; grandchildren, Alex Powell (Lyndsay), Jessi Powell, Erika Case (Cody), Haley Nickell (Aaron), Brady Watts (Vanessa), Heather Champagne (Justin); 10 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother Huey Rowell and one sister Mary Lou Boyd, and daughter Rebecca Powell.
