Visitation is 3:00-7:00pm, Sunday, at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, 1111 South Main Street.
Nancy Rose Sackreiter was born October 27, 1958, to Harvey and Ella (Schumacher) Sackreiter in Milbank, SD. She grew up on a farm near Milbank. She then attended Northern State College and Presentation College in Aberdeen where she majored in special education. This is where she met the father of her kids, Charles Clarke Hayes. They were married on June 20, 1981 and to that marriage four children were born. They were the love of her life.
Nancy's heart, soul and passion were her children and grandchildren. Nancy was very supportive in her own special way and always with love. She worked for the Adjustment Training Center and Subway. As time moved on, she was blessed to meet Tom Badger. This union of love brought great joy. Always seeking adventure, together they bought a boat, motorcycle, and also owned and operated their own business near Hot Springs, SD.
Mom will always be remembered for her smile, phone calls, encouraging words of wisdom and big hugs. Grandchildren made her heart shine, which was contagious.
She was President of all her kids' fan clubs. As well as a member of P.E.O., the First United Methodist Church and the women's circle. She was also a leader of the Girl Scouts and loved traveling.
Grateful for having shared Nancy's life are her husband, Tom Badger, son, Jeff (Amy) Hayes, daughters, Angela (Steve) Burgess, Stephanie (Charles) Vlaminck, Carly (William) Murtha, Shawn (Dawn) Badger, Dannielle (Bryan) Walz. She loved and adored her grandchildren, Mariah, Jordan, Jacob, Libby, Emma, Will, Remmi, Alyssa, Caitlyn, Conner, and Carlee.
Preceding Nancy in death are her husband, Charles Hayes, parents, Harvey and Ella Sackreiter, Don Hayes, Bob Olson, infant brother Lynfred, brothers-in-law, Tom and Mike Hayes.
