Jimmy R. Watson, age 66, of Whitley City, Kentucky, died on Friday, October 12, 2018 at his home.
He was born March 8, 1952 in McCreary County, KY., to the late Kelly and Dinah (Frady) Watson. Jimmy was a member of Dixie Freedom Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in his yard and flowers, he loved all animals but above all he loved his family and spending time with them.
His parents; wife, Virginia (Cowans) Watson; brothers, Lee Watson, Kelly Watson, Andy Watson and Junior Watson; and sister, Edith Pennington, Jean Watson, Opal Watson, June Kay Watson, and Katherine Watson precede him in death.
Surviving family include his sons, Albert Watson of Whitley City and Bruce Watson of California; daughters, Anna Cooper of Whitley City and Connie Watson of Cincinnati; brothers, Bill Watson and Edison Watson both of Pine Knot; sisters, Reba McCoy of Whitley City and Goldie Massengale of Indiana; 10 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and a special niece, Tiffany Davis Canada.
Funeral service will be 3pm Monday, October 15, 2018 at the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Scotty Corder officiating. Burial to follow in the Sherd Dobbs Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 2pm Monday at the funeral home.
