Vickie D. Aurilio, 56, Coconut Creek, Fla., and formerly of Niles, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007. She was born in Williamson, W.Va., the daughter of Emmett and Lois Thornsbury Mullins. Vickie was a 1969 graduate of Belfry High School in Kentucky and was employed as an internal auditor for Maroone Ford of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles, Our Lady of Lordes in Florida, a former Cub Scout leader, domestic violence advocate, PTA, a breast cancer awareness advocate and enjoyed gardening and reading. Vickie — mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend — will be deeply missed by her mother of Turkey Creek, Ky.; a son, Craig Aurilio, and his wife, Beth, of Niles; a daughter, Gabrielle "GiGi" Aurilio Blatt, and her husband, Jeremy, of Boca Raton, Fla.; four sisters, Lynette Staton and her husband, Charles, of Williamson, W.Va., Cathy Marrarra, formerly of Canfield, Regina Christensen and her husband, Jim, of Duluth, Minn., and Pamela Mendoza of Cloquet, Minn.; two granddaughters, Elexea N. Aurilio and Avallina G. Aurilio; several nieces and nephews; and Robert C. Hassan, her companion of 22 years. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Sharon D. McGinnis. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles, where the Mount Carmel Bereavement Ministry will conduct prayers at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles, preceded by a 9 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery. Material contributions can be made to The Susan G. Komen Foundation, in care of the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Florida.
