Betty Jean Anthony, 82, of Champion passed away Friday, May 11, 2007, at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 5, 1925 in Kittanning, Pa., a daughter of Herman and Harriet Allshouse. Betty was employed by Packard Electric during World War II. She married Charles M. Anthony June 13, 1945, and became a full-time housewife. Mrs. Anthony loved being a mother and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Prior to the onset of Alzheimer's disease, she loved to shop, cook and help others in need. Betty was a wonderful mother and a giving person. She will be deeply missed by her sons and daughters: Marjorie (Russell) Thornton, of Bristolville, Chuck (Maryann) Anthony of Warren, Bob (Terri) Anthony of Champion, Cheryl (Ted) Popovich of Champion, with whom she made her home, Carren (Ralph) Ailstock of Howland, Linda (James) Stewart of Southington, Pam Anthony of Warren, Ed (Kathy) Anthony of Leavittsburg, Sherry Hennen of Warren, a sister, Edie Culver of Southington, and a brother, Kenny Allshouse of Pennsylvania. She also will be missed by her 27 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many friends. Mrs. Anthony was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, a son, Carl, a daughter, Wanda, a grandson, D.J., two granddaughters, Carrie and Kathie, and 10 brothers and sisters. Calling hours will be 1 to 2 p.m., Monday, May 14, with the memorial service to begin at 2 p.m. at the Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, Ohio. Entombment will be in Crown Hill Burial Park The family request any material tributes be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17, Chicago 60601-7633. Selby-Cole Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
