Funeral: 11 a.m. Dec. 11, 2017, at North Star Church, Rueter, Missouri. Visitation: 10-11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Wyman Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Whelchel Grace Funeral Home. Linda Kay Ballard, 63, of Nixa, was born May 29, 1954, in Iowa City, Iowa, daughter of Jerry and Doris (Smith) Marshall. She died on Dec. 8, 2017, at her home in Nixa, with family at her side. Linda was a longtime resident of Nixa and worked as a nurse in surrounding long-term care facilities. She married Bill Ballard on Aug. 28, 1996. In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by her children, Amanda Staver of Nixa, Cynthia King of Blue Springs, Jennifer Touney of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Amy Ballard-Eastabrooks of Lees Summit, William Ballard Jr. of Fort Dodge, Iowa; grandchildren, LaKeshia “Moe” King, Tavius “Ta” King, Katre “Trey” King-Gyamfi, Gage Touney, Victoria Touney, Kiana Touney, Cadence Touney, Savannah Gooch, Noah Gooch, Mary-Elizabeth Joyce, Ethan Ballard, Aden Ballard, Gavin Ballard, Tessa Ballard; great-grandchildren, Taraji Rutherford, Lillianna Daye, Uriah Daye, Tavius “Ta” King Jr., Marley Butler, and Sincere Wilson; sisters, Susan Royer of New York, Nancy Graybill of Missouri; and brother Greg Marshall of Nebraska. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Jeri Lynn Hansen.
