John H Alexander, 66, who lived at 407 E Webster St, Benton, died at 6:25 pm Wednesday, at the Franklin Hospital, Benton. He had been ill for several years. Burial in Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton.
He was born Nov 8, 1905 in Benton, the son of Arthur and Geneva Eubanks Alexander.
A retired Coal Miner, he last worked at Orient No. 2 Mine near West Frankfort and was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 1265.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Archie and James.
Survivors include his wife, the former Thelma Summers; three sisters, Mrs Ruby White of Whittier, CA and Mrs Wanda Garrison and Mrs Margaret Shepherd, both of Benton. A brother, Gene of Spartanburg, SC.
