Mrs. Mary Frances (Merkley) Winkler, age 84, of Benton, KY died on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation in Benton, KY. Born Sunday, May 6, 1934 in Jasper, IN, and was a Nurse's Aid for Britthaven Nursing and Rehabilitation in Benton, KY. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, IN.
Mrs. Winkler is survived by her sons, Mark Winkler of Benton, KY, Michael Winkler of Paducah, KY and Faren Winkler of Jasper, IN, daughter, Vickie Osborne, four grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Winkler was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Cecil Eldred "Buddy" Winkler, daughter Iris Winkler, brothers, Charles, Bob and James Merkley and sisters, Margaret Rush-Very and Louise Pfau. Her parents were the late Edwin and Frances (Eckert) Merkley.
Memorial visitation will be held between the hours of 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 W 5th St., Benton, KY 42025.
Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery at a later date.
