DONALD EDWARD DAWSON, 81, of Hagerstown, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. Born February 6, 1937 in Takoma Park, Maryland, he was the son of the late Merrill E. and Florence J. (Roberts) Dawson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Dawson; and a sister, Marjorie Woodruff.

Mr. Dawson retired in 1999 with 44 years of service as a shipping and receiving specialist with the Review and Herald Publishing Association. He was a member of the Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church, and a former volunteer fire fighter for the Takoma Park Fire Department. He was an avid train enthusiast, collecting train memorabilia; and, he loved gardening, working in his yard, boating and water skiing on the Chesapeake Bay.

Mr. Dawson is survived by his loving wife, Barbara L. Dawson; three children, Eddie Dawson, Bill Dawson, and Susan Harsh; one sister, Shirley Reading of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be conducted at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
