Mr. Dawson retired in 1999 with 44 years of service as a shipping and receiving specialist with the Review and Herald Publishing Association. He was a member of the Hagerstown Seventh-day Adventist Church, and a former volunteer fire fighter for the Takoma Park Fire Department. He was an avid train enthusiast, collecting train memorabilia; and, he loved gardening, working in his yard, boating and water skiing on the Chesapeake Bay.
Mr. Dawson is survived by his loving wife, Barbara L. Dawson; three children, Eddie Dawson, Bill Dawson, and Susan Harsh; one sister, Shirley Reading of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews
.
Funeral services will be conducted at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
