Ellen Ruth Jenkins, 70, of Hillsboro, passed away at her home on October 1, 2018. Ellen was born on September 22, 1948 in Malakoff, Texas to Willie and Ruth (Barron) Manning. She married Henry Leon Jenkins in 1967.

Ellen attended OIC college for two years before she started her career. She worked for Aratex in Dallas, then Texel in Italy for 18 years. She also had her own clothing and merchandise business in Waco for 25 years. She did missionary work, often giving food and money to the poor. She was debt-free in order to help others. Ellen never met a stranger and was loved by many.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, brother Willie and her daughter Katrina White.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Leon Jenkins; daughter, Shaniqua Segovia; son, Jeffrey Jenkins; sisters, Shirley Allen, Alice Aquil, Rose Manning, Doris Green; brothers, Edward Manning and Charles Manning. She was also blessed with eight grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service is scheduled for 1:30PM on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Superintendent E. Whitfield officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgepark Cemetery in Hillsboro.
