Howard Edward Bergeaux was a farmer, a mechanic for Hebert Mud Equipment and drove a school bus. He also proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Iota, Louisiana. He enjoyed playing baseball and being a pitcher . He also love to dove and duck hunt on his spare time.

Survivors include his companion Florinda LeGros of Evangeline, Louisiana ; one son Todd H. Bergeaux and his wife Rhonda of Hathaway, Louisiana; one stepdaughter Tammy LeBeouf ; three sisters Hertha Fruge of Jennings, Louisiana, Loah Simar of Evangeline, Louisiana, and Rita Wade of New Iberia, Louisiana; two grandchildren Laiha and Christian Bergeaux; two step grandchildren Danielle Benoit and Jack LeBeouf and three step great grand children.
