Sam departed this life Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, in Norman.
Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Mangum.
Samuel Terry Hunter was born May 21, 1964, in Clinton, to Glennwood Hunter and Lillian Busby. He attended school in Mangum, and after he graduated, Sam joined the National Guard. He then moved to Oklahoma City, where he graduated from Platt College for law enforcement. He later became a chef. After moving to Oklahoma City he met Wendy Kemp and they had three daughters.
Sam enjoyed cooking and loved being a "paw paw" to his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Wendy Kemp; father, Glennwood Hunter, of Broken Bow; sisters: Edna Lawrence, Augusta. Ga.; and Melidean Butler, Thelma Thompson, Angela Richards, Yular Walker and Lisa Bryant, all of Lawton; brothers: Richard Perry, of Mangum; Henry Evans of Dallas; Alvin Pickens, of Lawton; Glennwood Hunter Jr. and Sherman Hunter of Denver; daughters: Marquita Hamilton, Antonia McCoy, La'Shauntae Kemp; Latisha Adkins, Briana Hunter, Samantha Hunter and D'Angela Hunter, all of Oklahoma City; sons: Tyrone Hunter and Joe Hunter, both of Texas; 12 grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, oldest brother and grandparents.
