Marjorie R. Ball, 91, of Linton, went to Heaven, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Greene County on Dec. 21, 1926, the daughter of Roy O. and Anna E. (Pribble) Ashcraft. On Aug. 4, 1946 she embraced Lester G. Ball as her wedded husband where they had eight children.

Marjorie was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and had also worked for Ellis Water Company for 24 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, working in her flowers and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed and remembered with love by her family and friends.

Survivors include: her sons, John P. (Mary) Ball of Bloomfield, Gary R. (Sheri) Ball, Sandborn, L. David (Diana) Ball of Martinsville and Jeffrey S. (Pamela) Ball of Linton; daughters, Leslie A. (Keith) Hembree of Linton, Jean M. Ellis of Bloomfield; son-in-law Terry Plew of Linton; four brothers, Robert Ashcraft of Indianapolis, Kenneth Ashcraft of Kokomo, Roy Ashcraft, Jr. of Bloomfield, James Ashcraft of Wiggings, MS; and sister, Joan Padgett of Bloomfield. Also survived by 29 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lester; daughter Donna Plew; one infant son Kevin Ball; two grandsons Jeremy Plew and Joshua Ball; two brothers, four sisters and son-in-law Troy Ellis.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018 at the Calvary Baptist Church with Pastors Eugene Riker and David Ball officiating. Marjorie will be laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Meng Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 9 a.m. until the hour of service at the Calvary Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church.
