Lois Lorraine Schoonmaker Summers

Lois Lorraine Schoonmaker Summers, 86, of Bay St. Louis, MS passed away Monday, October 8, 2018 in Bay St. Louis, MS.

Lois was of the Episcopal faith. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. She never met a stranger and her door was always open.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Summers; two sons, Michael Summers and Leroy Summers; three daughters, Mary Summers, Katherine Martin and Rebecca Fontenot; parents, Sam Schoonmaker and Mary Mae Bennett Schoonmaker; brother, Frank Schoonmaker and sister, Nancy Schoonmaker Raybourn.

She was survived by her two sons, (LIVING) Summers and his wife (LIVING) of Waveland, MS and (LIVING) Summers of Bay St. Louis, MS; three daughters, (LIVING) Summers of Bay St. Louis, MS, (LIVING) Summers of Bay St. Louis, MS and (LIVING) Elliott and her husband (LIVING) of Kiln, MS; two sisters, (LIVING) Schoonmaker Hill of Bay St. Louis, MS and (LIVING) Schoonmaker Gottschalk of Baton Rouge, LA; fifteen grandchildren; twenty nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon with a prayer service at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow at Bayou LaCroix Cemetery in Bay St. Louis, MS. Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis, MS is in charge of the arrangements.
