The son of Earl Edward "Bickey" Everett and June Rose Kirby, "Bill" married Carolyn Faye Blocker on 28 May 1960 in Leachville, Arkansas. They were the parents of 5 children.

Bill worked in the industrial relations department of Kerr-McGee Construction Company, located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was forced to take a disability retirement in 1972.

He was a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Madison County Economic Opportunity Commission's weatherization program. He was serving as chairman at the time of his death.

Bill was pronounced DOA at Wood River Township Hospital on the evening of 28 Feb 1979. At the time of his death, he was 38 years, 10 months and 8 days old.

He was survived by his wife, Carolyn; 3 sons, Phillip, Paul and Brian; 2 daughters, Sherri and Marie; his mother and father of East Alton, Illinois; and 1 sister, Shirley Copeland of Hartford, Illinois.

Visitation was held after 6 p.m. on the evening of 01 Mar 1979 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, Illinois. Funeral services were conducted there at 1:30 p.m. the following afternoon.

Bill's wife remarried after his death. She passed away in 2022 and was buried next to her second husband, Kenneth LeRoy Klocke, Sr.

Children: 3 sons, 2 daughters.
