William Henry Pickett, born on January 29, 1936 and left this world peacefully at home on October 8, 2018 after long illness.

William was a life-time member of Bethel Baptist Church in Woodford, VA. He served there for many years as deacon and treasurer. William was an avid hunter and enjoyed the time spent with friends during hunting season. He loved the beach and spent many happy hours teaching his family to fish. He tended his garden and enjoyed the fruits of his labor. William worked at the FMC plant until it closed. He was a carpenter, mason, painter and loved to restore old homes. He took care and pride in all that he did.

William is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy; David Pickett (Terri) and Paul Pickett; his brother, Frank Pickett; sister-in-law, Gladys Pickett; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is now with his daughter, Lynn Gouldin in the presence of our Lord, who preceded him in 2009.

Peggy is surrounded by her church family, her son-in-law, Frankie Wayne Gouldin, who knew William as a friend and father, dear friends, Mary and Tom Andrews, and her precious pug, Bella. All will miss William terribly.

Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 11th at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 14036 South River Road, Woodford, VA. 22580. A funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. Any donations may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, P. O Box 1202, Bowling Green, VA. 22427.
