Ida was born in Fieldstown, AL, on Saturday, November 21, 1925 and passed away at her residence in Hayden, AL, on Monday, January 11, 2016 at the age of 90. Ida retired from Princeton Hospital and she attended the Mineral Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Narvel James Franklin. They were married 46 years when he passed away in 1988; also by her six siblings, Edward Long, Charles Long, Clarence Long, James Thomas Long, Evelyn Posey and Pearl Hallmark.
She is survived by her son, three granddaughters, one great-grandson, many other family members and a host of friends.
Services will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Thursday, January 14, 2016 with a visitation to begin at 1:00 pm; funeral service at 2:00 pm followed by her burial in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
