Paula Mae Lillard Younger, 93, of 997 Harris Street in Eden, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018, at her home.
A funeral service was held at 4 PM on Thursday, October 4, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Younger was born July 6, 1925 in Ruffin, NC, to the late Eugene and Sallie Mae Lillard. She was the valedictorian of Ruffin High School's graduating class of 1943. Paula was the owner and operator, along with her husband, of Younger's Five & Dime Store. They owned five stores. In her retirement years, she enjoyed playing piano, watching soap operas and cooking and caring for her family. She was a member of Central Church of Christ.
She is survived by her son, David Younger and wife, Melissa of Mt. Juliet, TN; daughter, Laura Vernon and husband, Mike of Eden; three granddaughters, Mandy DeHart, Monica Lear and Meagan Jones; and five great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Gavin, Talyn, Daylen and Alanna.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gover P. Younger; son, Grover Curtis Younger; three brothers, Gene, George and Walter Lillard; and three sisters, Nellie Funk, Louise Cox, and Anna Jackson.
