C.S.A. Company G, 2 Mo. Cav. Nicolds was one of six Confederate prisoners of war executed by the Union Army to avenge the death of Major James Wilson & a six man patrol massacred by Confederate guerrillas under the command of Major Timothy Reeves during the Battle of Pilot Knob.
