Johnny Ray Nichols, 74 of Ardmore was born December 1, 1943 in Tishomingo, OK to the late Mr. John Nichols and Mrs. Geraldine (Risinger) Nichols. He departed from this life on Monday, October 8, 2018 in Ardmore, OK. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Gray Crematory. No Services are scheduled at this time.

Johnny grew up in the Tishomingo area where he graduated high school. He enjoyed music, playing guitar and singing. Johnny started the Almost Country Band playing at the Cloverleaf Club. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Johnny was a member of the Crossroads Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lone Grove where he was a member of the church band.

Preceding him in death are his parents; step mother, Zella Nichols; son, Craig Nichols in 1995; son in law, Dr. Alan McKown; and sisters, Dorothy Brown and Morie Stallings.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Peggy Humphreys of the home; children, Jacky Nichols of Tishomingo, Susan Riddle and husband Terry of Ardmore, Laurie McKown of Ardmore, Jammey Howard and husband Chris of Ardmore, Paula Breakfield and husband Dennis of Velma, and Greg Griffith and wife Sherrie of Loco; 15 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; best friends, Rick Jones and Butch Wilson; and a host of other family and friends.
