Luigi "Louis" Caranci, 67 passed away October 5 at home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 41 years Marie (D’Amico) Caranci.

Born in Providence to the late Michael and Anna (Colozzi) Caranci, he is survived by his children including son Michael and his wife Denise, daughter LynnMarie and her husband Steven Carter all of Cranston. He was the loving grandfather to Tabitha Medeiros, Keanna, Courtney, Matthew Caranci and Sebastian Carter. Luigi is also survived by a brother Manfredo of Andover, Massachusetts. He will be missed by nieces and nephews who he loved very much and also his great niece and great nephews.

He worked at Stop & Stop for 47 years until he retired 4 years ago then went to Enterprise Car Rental part time until 2 years ago.

He was a member of Coventry/West Greenwich Lodge of Elks BPOE #2285 for 32 years. He was a Past Exalted Rule, Past District Deputy, Past State President, and Past Grand Lodge Committeeman and State Elk of the Year. Over the years he served on various committees.

He was a member of the Providence Canteen Special Signal Fire, FOPA Warwick Lodge Fraternal Order of Police and an Associate member of the Rhode Island State Troopers Association.

Luigi “Lou” would also help anyone if he could but most of all his children and grandchildren were the love of his life. He was always there for them and would not hesitate to do anything for them.

He will be sadly missed by all. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 9 am from the Nardolillo Funrtal Home.1278 Park Ave., Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am
in Immaculate Conception Church, Cranston. Burial will take place in St. Ann’s
Cemetery, Cranston. V
