Jason Edward Thompson, 78, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 at his residence.

He was born April 8, 1940 in Johnson County to Maxie and Oma(Taylor)Thompson.

He married Sherry Dean(Anderson)Thompson on January 26, 1957, and she survives.

Mr. Thompson is also survived by his son, James D.(Linda)Thompson; daughters, LaDonna Farrell and Christine Cassidy; son, William David(Lisa)Thompson of Boggstown, son, Richard Dale Thompson; 1 brother, 1 sister, 8 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lisa Ann Thompson, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Mr. Thompson was a mechanic. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and being out in the woods hunting.

Visitation will be Monday, October 8, 2018 from 10 a.m. to Noon at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN.

Funeral services will follow at noon at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Adams officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 in Second Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
