ATTLEBORO - Anita Rose (Blair) Roberts, 86, of Canterbury Woods, Garfield Avenue, Attleboro, formerly of Greenfield Street, Seekonk, died on Monday, Feb. 1, 2010 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.

Born in West Warwick, Rhode Island on April 22, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Ernest J. and Yvonne M. (Paquin) Blair. She was raised and educated in Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Mrs. Roberts moved to Canterbury Woods almost eight years ago from Seekonk, where she had resided from 1973 until 2002.

She was a former Attleboro resident prior to returning to the community in 2002.

Prior to her retirement in 1988, Mrs. Roberts had been employed for many years as an assembler for Texas Instruments in Attleboro. Previously, she was employed by M Squared Plating in Attleboro.

A woman of strong religious convictions, Mrs. Roberts was a longtime communicant of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Seekonk where she was a member of the St. Mary's Senior Saints.

She was a dedicated fan of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics and enjoyed the times spent playing bingo.

Mrs. Roberts leaves two sons, Peter B. Roberts of Warwick, Rhode Island and David R. Roberts of Watertown, Massachusetts.

She was the sister of the late Lt. Roland J. Blair, who was killed in action in Sicily, Italy during World War II in 1943.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Commonwealth Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave. (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, 3/4 mile on left), Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Seekonk.

There will be no funeral cortege from the funeral home prior to the commencement of the Mass of Christian Burial.

Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

Following services, family and friends will be welcomed to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at Canterbury Woods, Garfield Avenue, Attleboro.

Please do not send flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation Inc., a registered 501 (c) (3) organization, 161 Commonwealth Ave., North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the Jimmy Fund.
