She was born June 1, 1923 in St. Cloud, to the late Phillip and Claire (Mihm) Abler. Doris attended St. Cloud Catholic School and was a 1942 graduate of New Holstein High School.
On January 18, 1947 she married Joseph Eiring at St. Cloud Cathotic Church. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2015. Doris worked for Dr. VA Baus and Dr. George Twohig. She enjoyed volunteering her time at St. Vincent de Paul in Kiel, playing Bingo, sewing, putting puzzles together, reading, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-granchildren.
Doris is survived by her four children: Mary Jo (Michael) Kollross, Kathy Maltsch, Peter (Sherry) Eiring, Paul (JoAnn) Eiring, and nine grandchildren; Lindsey (Brian Aucoin) Kollross, Joe Kollross, Nicholas (Lauren) Maltsch, Megan (Jarred) Enerson, Sarah (Stuart) Brotz, Dustin (Nora) Eiring, Abby (Matt) Bauer, Sam (Rachel) Eiring and Katie Eiring; and 10 great-grandchildren: Dexter, Ella, and Noah Eiring, Evelyn and Henry Brotz, Mason and Henley Bauer, Avery and Everett Maltsch, and Noella Eiring. She is further survived by her sisters: Phyllis Ausloos, Donna (Frank) Ditter; sisters-in-law: Verna Eggebeen,Virginia Eiring, and brother-in-law, Chuck (Mary) Eiring, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She is preceded in death by one son-in-law, Carl Maltsch, her brothers: Gordon Abler, Sylvester (Mildred) Abler, and Stanley (Ethel) Abler; her sisters: Vera (Dr. VA) Baus, Ruth (Bernard) Calvey, Mary Alice (Jack) Baus and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church (413 Fremont St., Kiel). Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday from 9:30 am until time of service at 11:00 am.
A memorial will be established in Doris's name at Villa Loretto.
